At EMERGE, we believe that talent is universal but opportunity is not. Grounded in this belief, EMERGE empowers and prepares high-performing students from underserved communities to attend and graduate from selective colleges and universities across the nation. We also know that access does not equate, necessarily, to inclusion or a sense of belonging at selective institutions. We know that most are still predominantly white and students in the bottom economic quartile are consistently underrepresented.

The EMERGE Program team, comprised of high school Program Managers and Managers of College Success, tirelessly collaborate to ensure that our high school Fellows transition successfully to become college Scholars. With our college and university partners, we seek to understand where those inequities threaten persistence and potential. This report provides insight into those collective efforts and an informed set of recommendations to guide us into the future.
