September has been an exciting month for EMERGE. We launched our new partnership in Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD)—our first expansion site—serving more than 100 students across the district.
In 2012, SBISD introduced the T-2-4 Initiative. The T-2-4 Initiative set an ambitious goal of doubling the number of SBISD students completing a technical certificate, military training, two-year degree, or four-year degree from 36% to 72%. EMERGE will be a critical piece of meeting this goal as we begin to prepare students across the district to apply to, attend, and graduate from top-tier universities.
This school year, we will welcome 100 students into the program, and in 2017, we will send the first class of SBISD students to college! We are looking forward to our continued partnership with SBISD.
